Infants have multiple growth spurts during their first year of life. This doesn’t have to be monitored in any way by parents, but sometimes they will think a baby is nursing more because of a “growth spurt.” This may be true. But it also may just be that an infant wants comfort from an illness, or mom’s milk production is lower than in the past and the infant is looking for more milk. It is important to not pay close attention to numbers or specific days being variable, but overall trends in your infant growth and behavior.
