I coined the term “oncolactation” to reflect the importance of supporting lactation in cancer care (much like “oncofertility” supports childbearing in this population).  We recently published with the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS) an Executive Summary of oncolactation, the intersecton of breast cancer care and lactation.  Our first and senior author reflection elaborates on future directions.

Below are images to illustrate the most common questions patients and providers ask about the intersection of breast cancer care and lactation (“oncolactation”). Thank you to artist Lauren Rebbeck of the UK for creating these!
