Freezer Stash of Milk

It is a good idea to have some stored milk for an emergency (you have to leave baby unexpectedly and are unable to take baby or pump), but planning for a “freezer stash” of milk generally creates anxiety for most moms and can be dangerous in terms of stimulating hyperlactation or “oversupply.”  Mostly, it is not recommended as a standard feeding plan for infants because many macronutrients and antibodies are lost with freezing, and it is always most ideal for baby to have fresh milk if possible.
